Description
POTTERY. Magna Graecia. 6th-4th Cent. BCE. (180 mm wide x 95 mm tall). A tall stemmed Blackware bowl with a solid round base that tapers into a long thin stem. This supports a wide, deeply formed bowl with a folded, rounded sleeve. The piece is decorated with black slip over most of the piece, the exception being a large section in the center of the interior, and several bands on the exterior of the piece. Very minor loss of glaze present. Expertly reassembled from fragments.
